There was Al Gore, last Saturday, a genuine climate change hero, minding his own business, trying to warn humanity that civilization might end if we don’t stop global warming. Along came the illiterate, barely functioning Tea Baggers & friends. Doing what they do best: waving around their “homemade” signs and heckling, a form of noise which passes for their speech.

Everyone loves moonlight and sunshine, if not baby animals. Like their idea that the earth is not warming, not even their protests make any sense. And it should now be obvious: Tea Baggers are crazed werewolves.

Usually I love Mondays, but unfortunately, I’m sorry to ruin your Monday and report that Glenn Beck is still ‘alive’. This is from the Onion, which as you know, is humor. (No I don’t want Glenn Beck to really die. I do want a plane to take him away to Uzbekistan and dump him there, though. Preferably in one of our torture dungeons.)
In more creepy related news, the cartoon character known as Sarah Palin is also still ‘alive’, but she’s slowly killing the Republican Party. And that’s OK.
But it’s not OK that Sarah has given new life to death panels — which means she must be a vampire. Only a vampire would be so obsessed with death panels. I always thought her canines seemed way over-developed for such a skinny body. Look, there’s even proof. And yet Oprah dared to have her on her show today. (It was obviously filmed in the dead of night). I will have a review of this interview soon, because I forced myself to watch it.

Let’s come full circle here: What is Jenna Bush, daughter of the worst president in history, going to tell us stories about? The wars her daddy started just because he wanted to? The people her daddy ordered killed? The way people and children in Afghanistan and Iraq are suffering today because of her daddy? The way people are suffering and homeless in the U.S. because of her daddy’s obsession with putting poor people with no credit in expensive new homes? The way her daddy set energy policy that will give us decades of corporate oil and Big Coal control? The way her daddy ignored people in New Orleans when a massive hurricane hit and drowned them and how her daddy left them to rot in the Superdome for days and days? The way her daddy wiretapped everyone in the country and suspended the Constitution whenever he thought it would be fine? The way her daddy OK’d torture and even allowed people to be boiled and sodomized? The way her daddy said it was OK to fight wars for oil and kill over a million people for Halliburton and KBR and OIL? What it was like to have a fascist for a daddy? What are you gonna tell us stories about Jenna? Your charmed sweet rich childhood and how it shaped your perception of The Unfortunate?

It’s time for the Amerikan people to end their love affair with that family. Your description above is spot-on. The news media just falls over itself fawning over them. As the media goes, so goes the nation. The media says that people are looking to the son of jeb as the next best hope for a continuation of that dynasty and of all they have done for the United States. Except for that little incident of tearing up the yard with a car and breaking into her house after an argument with his girlfriend, the media isn’t bothered with that and considers him perfect for any public office. They’d probably reduce the age limit to make him fit tomorrow if they could do it. People who don’t have aristocratic blood in their background would be disqualified from most such jobs for these endearing youthful indiscretions. There are different rules for different classes of people. The cute little vandalism thing was just mentioned in passing in the media promo piece. What it means is they’re going to promote and probably get their wish in the future. It would never have any impact on a political future if you have the right party or bloodline. NBC hasn’t been worth much for some time, but neither have the newspapers. It’s been the worst network, before Fox became what it was in the mid-90s, for a lot longer. Around or before 2000, newspaper columnists were talking about how the most unqualified candidate wouldn’t be such a bad thing because his running mate was the experienced head of Halliburton and former war secretary and how his office would be just a short distance down the hall if the texas governor had any real problems. They were given the chance and both showed just what a heckuva job they could both do. Whether they were successful or not depends on how you measure success. What is certain is that they did not benefit the proletariat who never mattered to people like them anyway. Speaking of which, why is the daughter of no. 2 on the tube all the time now? Ever since that crew left, the daughter has been given a forum like no other spawn. The media is there to influence opinion. Planting non-news and endorsing and endearing people who have done nothing for the people they are supposed to work for and the people will be sentimental about what a great bunch of people and will be begging to have them remain in office or as high up as possible. Real reporting might actually ask about nine eleven as well as documentaries about what happened in the 1930s with Smedley Butler. Guess which patriarch of which dynastic family was implicated in that? Instead, you are treated to nonsense. Chelsea was not a troublemaker and she did her work without doing anything embarrassing. She was mercilessly treated by people who made a lot of unfunny jokes at her expense. The same mindless set got so upset at anyone who dared utter a syllable of disapproval against less restrained young people in another family. Why would anyone want to have anything to do or listen to anything that family has to say? They managed to run up an impossible debt and bring a nation to the abyss with 2 wars of choice. This running up of debt worked against the incumbent in 1992. Yet, 8 years later, people knowing what it had been like under the same mindset were happy to submit to it and ran to it for protection after having been failed during the awful attacks in New York, PA and Washington. It didn’t go well for the victims of Katrina because the relative pittance for levee repairs couldn’t be found. Halliburton received a whole lot more and delivered nothing. It all seems to be working out very nicely for the family of which you speak.
