Waiting for Rep. Michele Bachmann to apologize for condoning Holocaust imagery at her latest public circus last weekend is NY Democrat Steve Israel, below. She won’t apologize. She’s addicted to fame and notoriety and she will condone whatever it takes to keep herself in the limelight, no matter how vile. “Rep. Steve Israel (D – New York) condemns the use of Holocaust images by Tea Party protesters and calls on Republican leaders to apologize.”
Bachmann needs to apologize to American Jews, to African Americans, to all Democrats, and to everyone in the United States for her scare tactics, her lies and her hysteria. She also needs to apologize to the people of Minnesota for painting us in this light. She doesn’t represent us whatsoever and in no way shares our values. She doesn’t even possess the ability to tell the truth. She lies about climate change, she lies about taxes, she lies about Obama, and she lies about health care reform. She is nothing but an embarassment to us.
Based on these irreconcilable difference with her constituents, and on behalf of District 6 in the State of Minnesota, I denounce her actions and declare that We, the People of Minnesota’s District 6, hereby divorce ourselves from the incompetent, rude, and dishonest politician, Michele Bachmann.
We will also make sure she is defeated for that Congressional seat next year.
The offending imagery her followers are encouraged by her to display below.
ThinkProgress’ Lee Fang snapped this photograph of a prominent sign being displayed at today’s GOP anti-health care rally. It’s unclear whether this sign is one of the many being handed out by Americans for Prosperity, the corporate front group sponsoring Bachmann’s rally. The sign reads “National Socialist Health Care: Dachau, Germany – 1945”: (click for larger version)
Matt Yglesias observes, “There are all kinds of nutty people in the world, but these kinds of things are the wages of a conservative leadership and media that’s consistently tried to drum-up opposition to health care reform not by opposing things that are actually in the bill, but with demagogic opposition to completely fabricated provisions.”
Disgusting.
If this doesn’t marginalize the far-right fringe, (Bachmann et al.) nothing will.
