Oh dear. Sarah Palin’’s supporters are as dense and clueless as she is. This video shows Sarah Palin supporters at one of the signings she is holding for the book she didn’t really write, after quittin’ her job as gov’ner.
Interesting how you can hear the repetitions here of people on FAUX News (aka “Fox”). The mindless talking points of Hannity, Beck, and Sarah herself, regurgitated from these plain-talkin’ folks, with minimal squirming. “I don’t know nuthin’ about her but I support her. (drool)” “Stop spending money on things!” is their main battle cry. OK, folks, no more Pentagon and military spending, starting tomorrow. Not another dime for war. Do that and watch the howling begin.
I’d really like to know what “boundary issues” Sarah has had to deal with though. She couldn’t even set boundaries for her own children, or poor Bristol wouldn’t have ended up preggers, now, would she have? Oh, never mind. It’s pointless to try to explain this level of clogged mental ability. Could these people even read the book if they tried?
This video was made by the guys of New Left Media. In fact, here is their explanatory video spiel as posted on Utube:
“On November 20, 2009, Sarah Palin visited Columbus, OH as part of her book signing tour for “Going Rogue.” When her supporters were asked broad questions about why they why they thought she should be president, the responses were vague: She’s “real.” She’ll “stick up for America.”
[Yeup. Like a flagpole in real, authentic, frozen Alaskan sled dog poo, she will stick up for 'merica. ]
THERE ARE UNINFORMED OBAMA SUPPORTERS, TOO
[duh]
It has been said in comments that we would find similarly talking point-driven, substance-less supporters at an Obama rally, and we agree. But no politician has emerged on the national stage as undefined and unqualified as Sarah Palin, and her public persona–which is anti-intellectual by definition–discourages substance. [well put!]
Instead, we get winking. One could hardly imagine her giving a complex speech about race in America, or speaking eloquently about our country’s relations with Islam. Not just because she couldn’t write such a speech (Obama has speech-writers, of course) but because she wouldn’t–such necessarily academic discussion is antithetical to the persona she’s created for herself and that her supporters have come to love.
CHERRY-PICKING
As for accusations of cherry picking, which are commonly thrown at interview-based videos, it simply isn’t what we did. We interviewed only a few more people than ended up in the video, not hundreds, and what was cut was done for time purposes. The people were selected at random–some offered to be interviewed–and we were only there for about 90 mins (it gets dark early and fast in Ohio right now). What didn’t make it into the video was just more footage of people talking generically or about taxes/spending, drilling, and abortion, and we constructed blocks in the piece to represent those issues. Of course the piece was edited to be entertaining (this is YouTube, after all, where the currency is cat videos) but we don’t believe we misrepresented the attitudes of the people at that signing in any way.
This NEW LEFT MEDIA film was produced and edited by Chase Whiteside (interviews) and Erick Stoll (camera).

But…but…she’s just like us. She’s everything a man wants in a woman. She hunts, can probably skin a caribou and likes to fish and we’ve hunted with people who can stalk, kill and cook both fish and mammals, but none of them have been as purdy as Governor Palin. And, she’s good lookin’. She was a beauty contestant and she looks as good as ever. She also never lived off of anyone else’s dime. I know itz true ’cause someone said it on the comment section on youtube. She’s just like us but shes got better facial structure. And I dont care if the book ain’t read or not. Its got lots of neat pictures in it and I would be just as happy to buy it as long as it had her picture on the cover which is all I paid for anyway. And I’m gonna keep it under my pillow when I sleep or maybe beside me so I can see her purdy smile when I go to bed at night. I can’t help looking at her without thinking how she would look if I ever saw her on the shores of Anchorage and I’ve got it in my mind how we can see so much of her if she gits elected. She is the cause of global warming ’cause when I see her my temperature goes up a few degrees. Shes just like us and we don’t know what she stands for and we never heard of her until a few months ago but we’re very picky and just like our wimmenfolk in Bubbasburg wanted duhbya back in 2000 because he had a handsome goofy nephew affectionately referred to by his gramps as one of the “brown kids” and we wanted to see more of him and figgered if duhbya got in we’d see a lot more of him. Eye candy rules!!!111!!
@Bugga: So true. I’m not sure she’s got such great facial structure though. She has a huge, overdeveloped jaw, probably from chewing mounds and mounds of meat she shot and killed herself.
I bet she smells like she has meat rotting in her stomach all day long. She has lovely sharp teeth, though.
I don’t think even Liz Cheney eat as much bloody wild animal meat as Sarah. Maybe the annual tonnage of meat Sarah consumes is somewhere in her book. Not buyin’ it to find out. … I’ll just guess.
The wetdream of the right-wing, gun-lovin’ man.
You know how to use and twist the literary knife. I try not to say negative things about people’s physical characteristics; but that was middle Amerikkka speakin’, don’t ‘cha know?
Comparing anyone to the Cheneys is a bit too much, even if they’re sociopaths. The Palinites are like that cute little dinosaur in Jurassic Park that blinded and killed the saboteur Newman. Somewhat buffoonish, but still dangerous. Her followers are a bit up the chain of reptiles, with her more militant followers maybe ranking a velociraptor: fatal, lethal and malevolent. The highest class of dinosaur would be the tyrannosaurus which includes cheney spawn and mclame and those people, but with one difference: they think. The C(heney) rex is big, powerful and this one could sit next to you in a theatre eating popcorn watching all the released videos, photographs and listening to the screams of rape victims of both sexes and when the lights came on you would be sitting there horrified with tears streaming down your face and the C rex would look over at you as it chewed on a mouthful of popcorn and say ‘So?’. These are the most frightening throwbacks in the whole park. The Palious rex might be redeemable. They might not know what they’re doing or realize the death their kind is causing. If they saw it they just might maybe recoil in horror. On the other hand, maybe not.
Sorry- the theatre sequence references the videos, screams of rape victims, etc., of the fun that occurred in Abu Ghraib and all the audio/visual things relating to it. The C rex types didn’t get angry because of what occurred in the prison. They were angry because people found out about it. Some of their kindred spirits didn’t mind that atrocity because, they said, ‘Saddam’s boys (Uday and Qusay) would have done the same thing’. Such people are beyond reason or any sense of justice or fairness. Then the P rex was going to serve under a C rex type who lost so many planes during the Vietnam War that you didn’t need an enemy with him flying them. The C rex type was proud of his work of bringing death from above in his jet to farmers, women, children and other assorted civilians. These people are darlings of the christian right who rain death on people below, but when they do it it’s heroic and patriotic. These people are demons from hell.
Still much more coherent than any ‘man on the street’ interview of any Obama supporter that I have seen.
I’m not such a big believer in “evil” as I am in “mentally ill”. I think horrid criminals like Dick Cheney are mentally ill, as is Sarah Palin, obviously. That’s why there is more of a similarity between GW Bush, Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin than is immediately obvious. They are all mentally ill, psychopaths maybe, I’m not a psychiatrist, but it’s obvious to me they have similar mental problems. They all have similar unwavering self-confidence, (this is not healthy) and never question anything (lack of curiosity), never apologize for their actions or are willing to admit normal human foibles like “mistakes” (Palin never makes mistakes and Bush never made mistakes and Cheney has never said the wor) and they don’t seem to think before they speak, and they all have anger management problems. In Bush’s case, he took it out on Iraq and killed 1.3 million people (with Dicks prodding and help) and Sarah isn’t that bad yet. She just attacks people in the media and the liberals, etc. If she ever had true power, it would happen to her too, and 1.3 million people might lose their lives. Probably, a lot more. She might shoot them from helicopters instead of using drones though.
Well stated. I wasn’t trying to put any spiritual aspect to evil or demons from hell. It was meant as a metaphor. Mental illness could be some kind of neurosis, such as religious delusions which can result in someone being hurt, e.g.: ‘God told me to do this’. Someone has obsessive compulsive disorder which results more in loss to themselves than others in terms of wasted time, worry, erratic behavior. The “mental illness” you describe here would certainly qualify one as a horrid criminal. Your analysis is most enlightening and they have all been upgraded to horrid criminals. Given the power, they might do as bad or even worse. Shooting from helicopters sounds believable in this case. I had given her a little more credit because when she went on Oprah she seemed to act as if she was able to extend an olive branch toward that boy who used to stay at their home. I would be wary if I were him, but the fact that she suggested any type of reconciliation with someone like that made me give her a little credit. I cannot imagine the C rex line et al ever making any sort of conciliatory move toward anyone, period. After your last observation I’m now very seriously worried about this very thing you speak.
@Bugga: I know, I just think “evil” is a little overused, and it has been applied to people who I think are insane, quite literally, like Dick Cheney. As for Sarah, she is trying to be sweet about Levi in public because she intends to run for president. She is still so undisciplined that she lets it slip now and then what she really thinks of him, and it’s pretty harsh. I think Palin is a dangerous, unbalanced person, and also has many mental problems. She cannot think or speak clearly. She also has a bizarre complex about her own importance and she is completely and totally unqualified for any elective office. I want to see a woman president but it has to be someone mentally healthy and qualified. Palin does not fit the requirements.
